'Marching As To War' by Robert Emery John Wills (84 pages)

84 page PDF file - The following narrative was penned by Robert Emery John Wills in 2003 when he was 81 years old. It relates his personal experience of World War II in a detailed account that reflects his sense of humour, integrity and good nature. Many war veterans take their stories to the grave so this account is more than a family heirloom, it’s a wonderful contribution to the global archive of knowledge about this terrible war. Robert was born in Bristol in 1922 and, I assume, has since passed away. The reason I do not know for certain is that Robert’s account was sent to me in 2010 by a friend who thought I might enjoy it and find a place to share it with others, the permission to do so having been given freely by the author. It’s been 15 years since then and I now have the means to do so and I hope you enjoy this account as much as I did.
